Bangladeshi researcher Arif Mia is conducting research on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and intelligent power system technologies in the United States. His research focuses on developing AI-assisted algorithms to improve renewable energy integration, grid reliability, and the operation of modern electric power systems. He completed his Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at Lamar University, where his graduate research explored advanced applications of AI in power engineering.

His published research primarily focuses on machine learning for power system operation, intelligent renewable energy integration, microgrid forecasting, and computational methods for improving electric grid performance. His studies investigate how data-driven technologies can support more reliable, efficient, and resilient power systems while addressing the growing complexity of modern electricity networks.

Alongside his academic research, Mia is also applying his knowledge to real-world power generation systems. He currently works as an Electrical Field Service Engineer at Siemens Energy in the United States, where he participates in the commissioning, testing, and validation of generator excitation systems used in utility-scale power plants. His professional experience provides practical insight into the operational challenges faced by today’s electric utilities and complements his research in intelligent power system technologies.
